Industry & Major Projects
Senior engineering on contract for industrial and major projects
I take on the critical phase of building, expanding or operating a production plant, factory or data center. On contract, not as a permanent hire.
Filling a senior position takes months. The project keeps running in the meantime, and so does the risk. What is usually needed in that situation is not a permanent role but experienced capacity for a limited phase.
"I'm not taking the role. I'm solving the problem you posted the role for."
You pay no fixed costs and no onboarding time, only the phase in which the project risk is highest.
In asset-intensive production since 1993: semiconductor (Infineon, ams), pharma and medical technology (MSD, Beckman Coulter), solar (Sovello: build-out of a complete PV production line, €155m, 250 staff). That experience carries from a new factory to a data center:
- Build-out and expansion of production plants and factories, from cell/module manufacturing to semiconductor fabs and GMP pharma production, through to data centers.
- Technical due diligence before financing, acquisition or closing.
- Owner's engineer / commissioning support through construction and start-up.
- Utilities, ultra-pure media, clean rooms, infrastructure, plus building and process automation (the "digital factory").
- Operations (O&M) and energy efficiency: energy use, waste heat, water; for data centers the KPIs (PUE) made public by § 72a of the Austrian Energy Efficiency Act.
- Energy engineering, PV, storage, smart grids and grid connection.
Owners and operators of production plants, factories and data centers; project directors and owner's engineers; EPCs, general contractors and M&E designers buying independent senior capacity at peak; investors and advisors in industrial or infrastructure deals.
